Giving Rise to Faith and Inspiration -
Deepening Commitment and Determination (2015)
There are many good reasons to feel deep faith, gratitude, respect and even loving devotion towards the Lord Buddha and the liberating Path that he taught. When we consistently recollect excellent reasons and examples that give rise to these wholesome emotions, a lot of joyful energy arises in the mind. As following in the Buddha's footsteps with the intention of overcoming the powerful habits of greed, hatred and delusion is a huge undertaking that requires great sincerity, we must learn to arouse, channel and then utilise the energy of Faith in a focused and determined manner.
The qualities of Confidence and Joy are incredibly helpful along the path of cultivation, and many people neglect giving rise to these qualities and subsequently find themselves lacking in the necessary energy for deepening the actual practice. It is hoped that this collection of inspired talks may be of assistance in helping to give rise to both a deeper faith and commitment. (Ajahn Achalo)
