Devotional Chanting with Music (2018/2019)

Several of Ajahn Achalo's Chinese Malaysian students made special requests for their Ajahn to recite some Mahayana Mantras. Once again Christopher Conway from Leicester in the UK was happy to collaborate with Ajahn Achalo in producing a series of Mantras with Soundscapes. Interesting to note, Chris felt that the Ajahn's vocal performance was the best so far in this selection, while Ajahn felt similarly that the music that Christopher produced was the most serene and complimentary to date. Perhaps practice makes perfect? The chants were recorded in Ajahn's kuti (monk's cabin) late at night and the music was added later in Christopher's studio. Audio files were sent back and forth through cyberspace with comments and suggestions offered after listens through. Somewhat amazingly, neither Chris nor Ajahn have actually met each other in person or had even so much as a phone call! The entire collaboration was done via email. Amazing what can be done with creativity and determination!
