Questions
1 - May I kindly request you to bless us with your venerable reflection on the ‘Cakkavatti-Sihanada Sutta’. 2 - During chanting, the hair on my arms stands up and have goose-bumps and hear a bang sound. Do you have any suggestions what this is? |
3 - I have been mediating for the last 25 years, have done many retreats. As I got older, I started having problems with sleepiness during meditation even in the morning after a good night's sleep and waking up with a headache. I used to feel peaceful and happy and the only time I felt sleepy, like everyone else, was when meditating in the afternoon after the midday meal. Now almost every time I meditate, I feel drowsy, sleepy and wake up with a headache. The only time I do not feel sleepy is if I meditate outdoors but that is not always possible in the UK. Can you advise please?
4 - When I meditate I can feel my heart getting heavy and discomfort will arise. I am a female. I heard Ajahn mention that Pema Chodron talked about this issue for females. May I know the name of Pema’s book? Can Ajahn explain more about this issue for females?

Questions

I am worried that this habit of mine may not be the correct way to progress in meditation. Q2 - Are people good by heart but harsh by mouth true Buddhists? |
Q3 - It is said that every meditation subject such as kasina has it's own nimitta. What is the nimitta in metta meditation?
Q4 - I’ve heard Ajahn talk about collectedness? Can Ajahn share more about that and say if there are any good reference for it?
Q5 - Can you please explain some discrepancies in the Buddhist concept on Rebirth please? What is written in the texts does not match with what I have read and heard more recently.
Q6 - You share about some Thai elders who are enlightened, but you rarely mention non Thai monks. Is it because non Asians, or people with western education are too analytical and find it difficult to get into Samadhi?
